I caught SO much flack over this cover. My Diamond rep actually called me and said they couldn'y give the book 'full support' with this cover. So I had to have a second cover added for issue one by Al Rio (I'll post that one soon)
It was supposed to be a little 'tongue and cheek' because the Issue was a SUPER SIZE First issue (54 pages). But I got comments like "You are objectifying women!" and "Your just pandering to the lowest blah blah" and a straight up "You want an OPINION!!! THIS COVER *^#&ing SUCKS!!! I would NEVER buy a book with a cover like this!!!!" and a "People like you are the reason why women don't by comic books!" However, interesting point to note... I own a comic shop and I (of course) have my book on the shelf. I have women walk up and buy it fairly often and when I ask why they chose it (without reveling its my book until after the purchase) they all respond with similar statements like "Its funny" or "I wish I had boobs like her!" As far as the cover goes, I think it's pretty amusing, and it's drawn pretty well on top of that. Too bad that you can't always just do what you want when money is involved.
